Tea From Our Estate

Madhuting Tea Estates produce both Orthodox and CTC teas. While it has dual manufacturing facilities Hatimara produces premium CTC teas only.

Orthodox

Orthodox Tea is known for its distinct flavour profiles, which vary depending on factors like tea estate, climate, and production techniques.

“Orthodox Tea” refers to a traditional method of tea production that involves:

– Withering to remove excess moisture

– Rolling to release enzymes

– Oxidation to develop flavour and colour

– Firing to stop oxidation and dry the leaves

CTC

CTC Tea stands for “Crush, Tear, Curl” Tea. It’s a modern method of tea production that involves:

– Crushing to release enzymes

– Tearing to break down leaves

– Curling to shape the leaves

– Oxidation and firing to develop flavour and colour

CTC Tea is known for its consistent flavour and quality. CTC teas are
commonly used in India. Their strong flavours and quick brewing time make
them popular choices for mass-produced tea bags and commercial tea
preparations.
